Solsiree del Moral, professor, Amherst College, gives a talk titled, “Puerto Rico at the Center: Challenges to Empire and Americanization through Schooling.”
This talk is part of the 2024-25 Greeley Peace Scholar Program Speaker Series, themed Confronting Empire, Forging Transnational Justice. This year’s theme examines the broader impacts of imperialism, neocolonialism and structural violence on communities worldwide, with a particular focus on the Caribbean region.
The speaker series will also highlight emerging movements advocating for self-determination, solidarity and justice in the region.
The speaker series is free and open to the public.
