Description
This course is designed t support students in their Learning Assistantship (LA) through weekly recitation sessions. LAs will develop their mathematics pedagogy as they work with groups of students or with individual students on their weekly assignments. LAs will develop math specific skills for teaching, such as effective questioning techniques, choosing examples to use when explaining concepts to students, and leading small group discussions. Through coursework, LAs will analyze student work to better understand difficulties that students encounter when learning specific concepts/contnent. May be repeated up to three semesters. Permission of Instructor is required.
