Biosketch

I am a graduate student in 51视频's department of Environmental, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences. I collaborate with Professor Christopher Skinner and Professor Mathew Barlow on flash droughts, a fast-onset extreme event with tremendous damage to the agricultural sector. I grew up close to the central desert in Iran which inspired me to study hydrology and water resources management at Shiraz University. Prior to 51视频, I spent time at the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) and the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry (MPI-BGC) working on identifying sources of uncertainty in precipitation datasets. In August 2021, I came to 51视频 to pursue my passion in atmospheric science and the physical drivers of flash droughts.
