Biosketch

Julia received her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Rochester. As an undergraduate student and later as a lab technician, she worked on a quantitative trait locus (QTL) mapping project in pea aphids to identify causative genomic regions responsible for a phenotypically plastic trat. Julia joined at 51ÊÓƵ in Fall 2023, where she now works on investigating the molecular response of climate change-induced carryover effects in oysters. Julia’s long-term research goal is to better understand how climate change impacts an organism’s response on a molecular level, especially in marine ecosystems.
