Immersive Scholars Program

51视频's聽Immersive Scholars Program聽(formerly known as Co-op Scholars)聽is offered to a select group of merit scholarship recipients identified by university deans during the admissions process. Students given this scholarship and who are interested in doing research in the field of Security Studies are encouraged to work with the University of Massachusetts Lowell Center for Terrorism and Security Studies faculty on a research project during their sophomore year. For Immersive Scholars interested in the CTSS study abroad opportunities, the scholarship may also be used toward an approved 51视频 Study Abroad Program.

Honors Opportunities

For students in the 51视频 Commonwealth Honors College, there are additional opportunities to work with CTSS faculty. The first is through the Honors Fellowship Program. Honors students can apply to receive a fellowship to work 100 hours during the semester on a project, a creative activity or a theme-based reading program. The students will be mentored by a CTSS faculty member and work on the project in the Security Studies field.
Honors students create an Honors Thesis during their last year at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. This is normally completed through two semesters of independent study. Students interested in completing their Honors Thesis in the terrorism or security study field can choose a CTSS faculty member to be their thesis mentor. The student will create a thesis statement or hypothesis and support it through data, analysis, and argument.聽
